    Keeping it Clean!

    Cleaning F-10 Markaz

The streets of Pakistan’s cities and towns are teeming with litter. We live in a reality of plastic bags, packaging of food and other waste with no effective waste management system and recycling facilities. While this is a greater macro-level responsibility and issue, there is something that we as citizens of this nation can do: stop littering

Inspire Pakistan is promoting anti-littering along with other social and environmental initiatives as part of its year long campaign Pakistan Resolution 2013. The idea is very simple: Change starts with ourselves. As part of the campaign, ordinary citizens can make a simple resolution for Pakistan and the campaign would encourage them to act upon that resolution by sharing information and organizing various events and activities throughout the year in which they can participate.

This Earth Day (22nd April), Inspire Pakistan joined hands with other socially responsible organizations and groups to organize city clean ups throughout the country, the one in Islamabad was held in F-10 Markaz in collaboration with The Do Good Mob. The motive, to clean up our streets that have become rubbish hot spots and create greater awareness of how to care for our environment. To eliminate litter, we need to address both littering behavior and changing the environment.

We all have a role to play in preventing litter. It takes just one person, one school, one business, and one organization to positively impact the behavior of others in their community. Now is the time to get started.
