Khayaal Creative Network, along with Al-Hamra Arts Council got together to put on an Arts and Literature Festival at Al-Hamra Lahore. The two-day festival used the expertise of a combination of some of the best writers and performers of the country to put on a selection of discussions, performances and workshops. It catered to a wide range of audiences with sessions on drama, music, film, journalism, politics, theatre, women issues, Lahore’s heritage and culture, as well as the art scene. Attending the various sessions, one could observe that the passion behind the event remained rooted in the love of art and reading, to bring about a culture of innovation and exploratory talk. The stalls outside featured diverse organizations from Daachi Foundation to Institute for peace and Secular Studies and Simorgh Women Resource and Publication Centre. A major influx of stars graced the Alhamra Arts Complex including Farida Khanum, Haseena Moeen, Rashid Rana, Kishwar Naheed, Nighat Chaudhry. The organizers deserve an applause for arranging a celebrity packed event for the lovers of art, literature and music.
