    Commemorating Iqbal Day

Under the banner of the International Iqbal Society, an organisation committed to the dissemination and endorsement of the teachings and ideas of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a daylong event was held at the Mazar-e-Iqbal Lahore. The venue was appropriately draped with decorations including verses personifying poetically mediated thought written on posters and placards. A small exhibition organized by Allama Iqbal Stamp Society displayed various postcards, tickets and Iqbal’s hand-written letters. Throughout the day, several memorial activities were held to talk about the works of the legendary writer where children from schools participated enthusiastically paying rich tribute to their National Poet. Visits were also made by government officials to the mausoleum located close to the entrance of Badshahi Mosque. The day had started with Pakistan Navy contingent assuming guard duties at the mazar during a notable ceremony.
