Swing opened its door for the Karachites not even a month ago, and the hype on social media fueled my curiosity to visit the place. Located at main Khayaban-e-Seher, the restaurant opens at 11 am and shuts at 11 pm. It is owned by a brother/sister duo, who not only gave Swing a prominent presence on social media but also cater their restaurant to bloggers, vloggers, and foodies, who want that perfect picture. On my birthday, I chose to have lunch with a couple of friends at Swing. But getting a walk-in table was a pain, so I’d recommend you make a prior reservation.

I was awestruck by the breathtaking entrance and the beautiful interior, not to mention the floral wall. The pink-hued paradise is absolutely beautiful, with flowers galore and cute features, such as a swinging seat and cherry blossom flowers. It's a small and cozy place that seats about 30 people. The ambiance of the eatery is exquisite, with soft lighting and pink floral decor that gives a delicate touch. Moreover, the cups and cutlery are absolutely adorable, and such attention to detail makes Swing stand out.
We were welcomed by a friendly staff, and the owner herself seated us to our table. The menu has some interesting choices, from Asian to Comfort Food, along with signature drinks and desserts. The three of us ordered a little bit of everything from the menu.

The Salmon Roll ups were served with boursin cheese, honey mustard, pickled beetroot, garlic bread and topped with caviar, making it a heavenly combination. These bite sized salmon roll ups screamed flavor, and I would recommend everyone to try them if you’re a sea food lover!
Additionally, the Vietnamese rolls were a jumble of crunchy raw vegetables, infused lemongrass, soft, aromatic leaves and cool, squidgy noodles, stuffed snugly into a feather light rice wrapper. The flavor of lemongrass was a bit overpowering, but that is very authentic to Vietnamese taste. We informed the waiter about it, and he was nice enough to replace it with another item on the list, which was on the house.

The next one was a treat for the taste buds, and all of us fell in love with it from the first bite! Loaded Cheese Fries, topped with cheese sauce, Sriracha mayo, mushroom sauce topped with crushed Cheetos was divine. Full of carbs and calories – these fries were perfect comfort food, and I highly recommend them.

The Buffalo Chicken Pizza, interestingly, was cut in squares and deep fried to serve. The pizza was topped with tomato sauce, buffalo sauce, onions, fried chicken, and a creamy spread of mozzarella cheese. It scored high points for its creaminess and cheesiness.
While we were engrossed in our scrumptious food, Swing’s chef walked to our table and apologized for the Vietnamese rolls (which wasn’t his fault, it was our taste buds). He placed a plate of mouthwatering chicken wings on our table that came in three different flavors, including BBQ, honey glazed and buffalo sauce.

While the idea of ordering dessert with a full stomach seemed ridiculous idea, desserts are the most crucial part of any meal! We ordered the Lava Explosion and the Deconstructed Chocolate Bowl. The Lava Explosion, is built for a person with a big sweet tooth. This mind blowing, gooey cake was served with tuile, seasonal fruits and ice-cream. Minus the fruits, we all truly loved the lava explosion, and I can tell you that because it was finished within 5 minutes.
While the Bowl wasn’t as picturesque, it was still divine. The crispy chocolate bowl was rich, and the dessert was served with ice-cream, brownie chunks and micro greens that were drizzled with chocolate syrup! Our total bill at Swing was PKR 5000, which may seem a little pricey, but we did order a considerable amount, and had cold drinks as well. Head over there with your friends now to enjoy the aesthetics and food!
