The Divided Banyan: A Tale of Roots and Wings
“Chawkandi Art Gallery is delighted to present Madiha Hyder’s ‘The Divided Banyan: A Tale of Roots and Wings’. Based on an allegorical narrative of a banyan tree and its inhabitants, the works explore the paradox of belonging and displacement. Hyder’s practice is an ongoing investigation of socio-political issues and personal concerns, often employing portraiture or zoomorphic symbolism to discuss the contradictions of our times.”

Timescape
“Timescape is a solo presentation by Kiran Waseem. In her work, Kiran explores the ephemeral nature of moments, capturing the transience. Each painting is a reflection of a particular place she has experienced during her travels, embodying the fleeting quality of time and memory. Night travel, with its poetic and serene atmosphere, serves as a powerful metaphor for this exploration. The essence of her work lies in the interplay between light and darkness, clarity and obscurity.”
